A good resource to use in class: a video of Jamie Oliver in his vegetable garden is . A worksheet is needed: focus on the vegetables he grows there + plans for recipes.
I love Jamie Oliver and specially the series in which he presents his garden and the things he grows. I think it's a great idea to work in class (and for me to do at home!).
Right, Luísa! But we do need a worksheet / guidelines to use this material in class. It is a bit time consuming and it is a shame if it is just used by one of us.
Love vegetable gardens (I'm planning one of my own), love food, love Jamie... A good resource for the big kids. The ones of 3º ciclo can't keep up with the speech speed.
I think it's an excellent idea: to give children the opportunity to understand where vegetables come from, to be in touch with nature, an opportunity to pratice language items related to nature. Truly British indeed!
Moreover it's a way of kids becoming accostumed to the British accent, which at first can be a bit difficult...it's an excellent mode of engaging children into the language in a meaningful way!
